God only anyone does these days is moan. Everyone is so bitter and miserable. It used to be the minority, but now it's very much the majority, in an overwhelming sense.

What makes us think we're entitled to anything. Because..we've money..and we got out our big fat cheque book and brought all these players here, playing over the top for many of them.
A dream team. Well close to one.

But no, because there's not immediate success..ie winning every single game with incredibly entertaining football, putting clubs like Man U with history and success and experience, away for fun, just because we've bought a few good players. It means nothing.

We've no loyalty to our own and more than anything that doesn't sit right with me. A player makes a mistake, (no one has a perfect season, no one has a perfect game for that matter, but we demand it, because we are living in the land of delusion.) He makes a mistake and we're vicious and demanding he's, not dropped, no no, but sold.

We have a bad game or two and after a few months we're screaming for the manager's head. Not one or two of us, but the majority are doing so. We're acting like spoiled children. Who want more more and more. Nothing is good enough any more, no one can play well enough. There's always something wrong. Always someting to complain about. Always some player to have a go at.
Even if they play good. Why? Because good isn't good enough, either is great. Perfection or their head on the plate. That's what people are demanding here.
That's what it's been like lately. It's getting worse than the English football team's fans. Who are so bad and so judgemental that their own team hate playing at home in front of them and would rather play away.

I mean where do we get off, we're sitting in 5th spot, (only short of 4th by goal difference ffs.) And we've a game in hand. 4th spot is something we can achieve, and people here are acting like we're being fuckin relegated like. Get a grip.
This is something that we could only have dreamed about last season.

Who the fuck do we think we are. Money doesn't guarantee success. And because of the way we are now, teams will love to beat us, and they do and a lot of the time they're gunning for us.

Look at the type of brats were acting like. Worse than United fans. At least they're able to enjoy their season. It's miserable looking at the dull bitter crowd that comes out to criticise, not support, the team these days. And it's pathetic.

Look what we've got, who wouldn't kill for what we have. We've more money than anyone and because of that money, in this season alone look what we've achieved. Look where we've come to. We can't go and achieve and win things in our first real season with the money, it's not realistic. Teams like Man U/Arsenal/Chelsea..etc know how to win titles, they know how to do it, they've the squads to do so, they know how to pace themselves and more importantly they know how to pick themselves up from a loss. That experience isn't something we can buy. It comes simply with time. (Time..such a foreign word on here)

And it's true, I mean if Man U lost to Stoke the way we did in the cup, they'd be the last team in the world you'd want to play because they don't know how to sulk, and stay down and depressed and feel sorry for themselves. They just get over it and their manager is incredibly good at getting them wound up and they end up going out and beating the crap out of whatever unfortunate team they end up playing. They know it, and their supporters know it.

But us look at the state of us..

Look how good we've got it, and then take a look at Portsmouth, take at look at where we are and where we actually might be in a few years, and take a look at them. A proud club, good fans, a good history..it means nothing without money. So it means nothing anymore.

Where we are now. Who wouldn't have killed for that last season. Worse than RAGs. Worse than the fans that the club has despised forever, never grateful, awful winners and awful loosers..sound familiar?

Guess that's what money does to ya..

Excellent post. But the fact of the matter is that 80% of those moaning started following us/became fans only after the sheikh took over and expect instant success.

Incredible post by IrishMacca, suits me down to a T, agree with every word. And for those of you who think you pay the wages of the players with your season ticket, you clearly don't understand how big business works. While your money helps it's a drop in the bucket at this level, just look at Pompey. If any of you think that your money has gone towards the 200+ million pounds that have been spent on new players, you are delusional and beyond saving. You haven't paid for anything or haven't you noticed that the Sheikh has paid for it all out of his pocket? And you have the nerve to shit here and run him down? Tell you what, raise 200 million pounds and buy your own players. This isn't FM2010, you can't buy cheat players, you can "start over" when results aren't going your way. Rome wasn't built in a day, the future of this football club won't be any different, and at the level we're playing toward experience counts for just as much as talent. We have the latter and we're developing the former. Have some patience for a change.

Takes 10 men for you does it? Who thinks he's 10 men.
I can guarantee I've got more brains than you as well divvy. Get another club if you haven;t already.

"Ten men" refers to fake hard men who think they are as hard as "ten men". You really are the brain of britain aren't you? Small man, small brain sydrome I expect.

This is good banter, what next after divvy? Plonker or ejit?

Stop moaning and start supporting.

Plonker and ejit are words not mine but well said!

Some of what Irish Macca says is correct but the moaning certainly is the majority of fans. Bayorblue well said though.

Can't help feeling that the decline in unity amongst supporters is, in some part, to do with the decline of the supporters clubs following the players deciding they were too important to go out and meet the fans. The biggest bright spot for me in the third didvision was seeing how the fans pulled together to drag the club out of its darkest hour. The supporters clubs seemed to be at their peak in those days. I remember the players on their knees doing the "we're not worthy" thing at Wembley. Strangely, they were more worthy than the current incumbents although not on the same planet in terms of skill. Seeing 33,000 at Maine Road for the fisrt game in the third didvision brought a tear to the eye and was first item on the sports news that day. Too many fans have forgotten. Maybe it's the 12,000 current regulars who weren't there that day !
