Todays friendly international matches

Not much to report from the Irish game. Keane with his 100 caps deserves a mention and did well.

Great atmposhere, a great night, stadium looks great, the fans are right down on the pitch like in Thomond which is a massive boost and will help us on big nights.

But one of the stand out moments..on the big screen, a pic came up of Delaney, Platini and John Giles sitting next to eachother, it zooms in on Platini and the crowd boo like hell, leaves him, goes back to the game, and it comes back to Giles and a massive roar from the crowd and Giles with a grin on his face.

Oh and obviously seeing such a fantastic team like Argentina and Messi playing against our lads.

Lost 1-0 though, we lived with them though, well kinda, more so in the second half where we could have scored a few times, Keane epecially.

The goal was a class piece of skill, from a goal kick, one of their players were offside from the goalkick, but obviously you can't be offside from a gk, but an Argentina player got a second touch and was offside and lobbed Given, but he was offside and the players protested, Given, especially, they reacted almost as frustrated as they did against France.
Did well when called upon but didn't have much to do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with his shoulder I'll tell ye that (or his voice for that matter haha.)

We won a corner in the last minute and a half, and a massive chear went around the stadium as Given bolts up the pitch, the ball comes in, bobbles around the goal, off the keeper, Keane misses and suddenly the ball is half way down the pitch and I've never seen Given move so fast, hahaha!! Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Cunningham came on, to mark Messi, but Messi went off shortly after that, didn't do too badly either. The young lads did really well to be fair.

A gerat night, despite the loss, any excuse for a few pints.

Oh and, speedy recovery for Trap.

Agree with this.

Superb stadium. Treat to see Messi, et al, in the flesh. Ireland really made a good account of themselves and were unlucky not to force the equaliser in the mad scramble at the end. Good crowd as well, 45000.

Looking forward to Euro qualifiers now, place will be rockin'

(And watching the Blues in the Europa League Final!!!)
