Like they said on MOTD last night, I was amazed at Debuchy's disbelief that he got a red card for that. Some players are just staggeringly stupid.
Scholes never did so to some degree he has my sympathy. That kind of looked like Larssons tackle on Garcia a while back, although Larsson didn't get so much of the ball.

Surprisingly enough, 10 red cards.

How many were in the Champions League with continental refs and how many were for his fourth or fifth tackle like above? I counted 3 two-footers and 2 from behind as well as a deliberate forearm smash in the space of about 20 mins in Wembley before he got sent off (was drinking, may have been slightly over-excited while counting) Scholes should reasonably enough in the absence of any bias or hysteria have gotten 4-5 straight reds every year he was a professional footballer. that makes 90.

According to this, he got 4 red cards in the PL. Presumably the rest were in European competition or while playing for England

Scholes had a nasty streak no doubt about that.
The media played it off as a poor challenge or that he was no good at tackling.
He got away with twice as many as he got penalized for.

4 in 18 years or so says it all really, Vinnie has more iirc and he's a really classy tackler. When I said I had some degree of sympathy for debuchy it's because there were worse tackles this weekend that were missed entirely or received yellows, not because he didn't deserve it cause he did.
