Today's shooting in America thread

Long live the isolated bubble that I live in!
As I’ve said repeatedly, my goal (if I’m to retire here) is to have enough money to live in such a bubble…even though there’s many a bubble popped by shit like this knocking on your door no matter where you live.

The key part of that exchange is the last part, where Cruz starts talking about “Well, then, why do people come from all over the world….”

Thd poor bastard is SO entrained in his view that BECAUSE people want to emigrate (t)here, then EVERYTHING MUST BE EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD!!!

This man was #2 to Trump when Trump won the Republican nomination. He is a Harvard Law School graduate. Yet, he seems INCAPABLE of holding two competing ideas in his head at once, or why one thing (crazy gun laws) is not even remotely related to the other (economic and asylum migration)!

Throw in the fact that a Canadian-born “man” called Cruz is also adamantly opposed to that immigration, and his entire life is one hypocritical episode after the other…and that’s before this asswipe cowered when Trump verbally denigrated his wife, then groveled at Trump’s feet to get him to campaign FOR him against Beto in his Senate race, and jetted off to Cancun, Mexico with his family while Texans froze when their electric grid failed in the middle of a winter storm!

Did you know that Texans THINK they’re so exceptional that they refuse to be part of the U.S. National Electric Grid, preferring to have their own grid because they THOUGHT they were the global epicenter of energy, so what could the rest of American do for them?!

He’s not incapable — he needs to steer the narrative away from any cognitive dissonance so he can keep getting re-elected by people who regularly steer away from their own cognitive dissonance.

Nor know what it is.

Nor how to spell it.

Nor how to spell, period.

No way I could send my kids into school in America and just hope that a gunman doesn't enter the school.
You just illustrated the MAIN REASON most homeowners who quietly have a gun at home own them!

Change “school” to “home,” where you have no other alternative, and you are there! And, everyone knows, or has seen, someone who has been burgled (often called “home invasion” here) by someone wielding a firearm.

I’m not ADVOCATING for anything, only trying to illuminate the discussion amongst a large group who are not marinated in the gun culture in America, and struggle to understand the mentality it creates amongst Americans in general.

Until they go to a concert and are mowed down like in Vegas. Or go to a softball game and are mowed down like that congressman. Or to a movie. Or to a church. Or are out playing on a field on the several hundred thousand acres of goddamn motherfucking parks and playgrounds at schools whose perimeters are literally physically impossible to secure.

The odds of any of this happening is small, but nowhere normal people go is truly safe.

Wait. Except the NRA convention where guns weren’t allowed in. Oh, wait, never mind, I said “normal people.”
Just imagine if guns weren't allowed anywhere...
