Shooting with a message, this one.

CEO of health insurance giants UnitedHealthcare Brian Thompson gunned down with three words written on the bullets: Deny, Defend, Depose.

Some suggesting it's a reference to this...

Genuinely like something from a movie. Also some suggestion the shooter was a professional.

It has got that thriller type vibe around the case.

Conspiracy nuts adding their batshit theories about holding back life saving drugs etc. When it could just be a very angry man with a motive such as having his insurance not cover him or a loved one who passed away and this is their way of getting them back.

It's weird that some people need a conspiracy, as if the stuff that we know about isn't fucked up enough.

The prevailing reaction here in the US, from people of all political leanings, is one of surprise that something like this took that long to happen. Not much in the way of ‘thoughts and prayers’ going around. Literally everyone has their own horror-story of being stiffed by medical insurers.

Just reading some of the comments on Youtube videos. Literally no sympathy for the guy at all.

Obviously I don`t know the victim but if the rumours are true about him and the company he runs he might have got what he deserved. It sounds like he had a quick death, not a long slow painful death like some of his customers. Retribution can be a fitting reward.

Ex forces means nothing these days.

I know loads of ex forces types that couldn't shoot straight, or strip down and rebuild a weapon if their lives depended on it because there are loads of military trades that rarely touch a weapon aside from their yearly qualification shoot, which consists of a weapon handling test and a target shoot to a fairly broad standard.

Ex infantry or Special Forces with recent combat experience maybe.
 
We’re entering very turbulent times, the Right have whipped their followers up into a rabid mob, willing to engage in insurrection at the drop of a hat. When Trumps promises of a neu fascist utopia, only turns out to be true for a chosen few, & the rest suffering inflation, where will all that carefully stoked anger at “elites” & the establishment go?
I’ve a feeling this shooting is only the beginning, Timothy McVeigh was another who felt betrayed by his own government & certain agencies & institutions, he killed 168 injured 400+ I wouldn’t be surprised if we get several more attacks from individuals radicalised on Trump’s own words, attacking him & his government, when the inevitable shit hits the fan under Trump’s clown show
