Tokyo 2020 Olympics/Paralympics

The biggest problem with that is that they are all individuals fighting for sponsorship, the very good ones get loads of money and the rest have to make do and mend.

Some athletes train in the south of France others train in Peckham, some athletes are the darlings of the media others haven't got an angle the media care about.

For me athletics ended when they went full pro, and now they extol the virtues of an "elite" athlete even if they fail, crash and burn.

That's why I think it should be brought under 1 roof. I think it'd be cheaper and give more athletes an opportunity to get some funding, especially up and coming athletes, u20's etc... I get the part about them going off to different places in the year but for some part of it, it would make sense.

It works/has worked with the cycling, granted they get professional funding from cycling teams too (well some of them do), just seems to make the most sense to me.

Surely out there somewhere there are some tall long limbed men and women who could be trained to throw things. We should put more effort into the field events, much better chance of a good return for a modest outlay.

Plus we've got past athletes with serious experience of winning medals in those events.
