Tommy Doyle | Signs for Wolves | will be confirmed Jul 1st

Easily his best performance for the first team to date.

I loved the back heel he played through for Jesus to run onto. That's the type of swagger you need if you're going to break through into this side.
Agree, thought he had played a bit ‘safety first’ and within himself in previous performances, last night was the first time he played something more like his natural game. Could be a an important rotation option on the run-in as the games start to mount up

Was great in the cup. Wouldnt it be good for him to be loaned out for 1 season? Don't think he will replace one of our midfielders soon...

Possibly? I'm a little soured on loans in general if the intention is to integrate the player and not sell for profit.

I think it's better to keep him around the first team for the remainder of this season and have him play EDS every game this season.

Then next season I'd give him slightly more responsibility/minutes, basically same approach to Foden, and see how he carries on, if he makes good of those minutes and we see improvement then I'd keep him, if not, then maybe a loan.

Kdb and Gundogan are about 30, we need to start thinking about their future replacements, and if the club believes Doyle is that, then loaning is the wrong route.

Just asking your opinions :D.

Hope he makes it. At least I got the impression we are finally using our impressive youth. Thats great.

Hope Tommy get a couple of league games at the end of the season , the way Pep has developed Foden over the last few seasons then hopefully he can work his magic with this lad , another blue through and through and has shown loads of potential. If he doesnt go out on loan then like Foden it will mean Pep rates him and will progress with our first team squad.

Can’t understand why he has not had more of a look in.

Possibly because we haven't won anything yet and has the likes of KDB, Gundogan, Rodri, Bernardo and Fernandinho ahead of him (not also including Foden who could likely play centrally and Ake/Zincheko who can play CM)

Or maybe because at this moment he isnt good enough and Pep doesnt want to give places on sentiment alone

With the shortage we have in midfield to rotate Gündogan especially I think he should have been a part of at least a couple recent games, same with Cole Palmer.

Completely different in terms of their potential and talent.Foden is genuinely special, that was noted from a very early age and it was almost inevitable he would quickly rise through the ranks.Tommy is a good player, but he is no where near that level. While still very talented,he is relying far more on his graft and character to break into the first team.
