Very sad news. I'd known Tommy since the late 80s, he seemed to appreciate me as an out of town Blue, used to see him every match ,esp away from home where he'd just pop up out of nowhere ,always with that glint in his eye and always a warm handshake, smile, and a joke.
First time I met him our supporters branch called in The George at Cheadle....I'd never seen anything like it, wall to wall tvs showing City matches of old, we weren't very good at the time, and things were bleak to say the least. But ..walking into Tommys pub you'd think we'd just won the league , the buzz, the lift I got ,walking in there , made you proud to be a Blue ,I'll never forget that moment, and there was Tommy looking proud as punch. His Blue Pub.
What a character. I've shed a few tears this morning .
Will be sorely missed. I don't think I ever saw Tommy without a smile on his face .That smile will be missed.
