Toni Kroos

An absolute snail of a player

I hope we don't sign him then. We don't need any more slow players.

Pace kills teams, even Navas looks a threat because of his pace, despite being pretty average. In my opinion an very fast, average player is better than a slow, very talented one, certainly in the PL.

So what we should be looking at is very fast, direct and very good players - Aubemayang from Dortmund, Bale obviously and Alaba. Is there any reason we shouldn't sign those three, plus Pogba? Apart from Messi or Neymar (unobtainable) who would be better? We'd absolutely piss the league and probably get at least as far as CL semis. What's to stop us? We have the cash, the ambition, and will soon have the world's best manager.
Aubameyang, Alaba, Bale and Pogba please. No fucking about.

He rated Kroos and vice-versa. The decision of whether Kroos went to Real Madrid would not be down to just Pep.

Suspect the reason was money: he had one year left on his contract and wanted more money but Bayern's wage structure meant that he could probably earn a lot more at Real.

City would presumably be able to match his wages and any transfer fee.

He would be a superb sigining if we could get him. Fantastic passing ability, work ethic and Pep ready.
I agree with that don't get me wrong.

Maybe Maldeika can shed some light on this.

In Pep's 1st season at Bayern , he raved over Kroos so not sure why he left.

Kroos...

How much Pep rated him really nobody knows. Pep when asked about players raves over every player - every player is top top top or a super super player - even players like Dante that leave in the following week or do not get any playing time - that is something you might learn from his press conferences next season, too. And maybe should take into account when it is about possible transfers. He always raves no matter if own or opposition player when a journalist asks.

But - that Kroos left was not a decision of Pep but of the Bayern management. Kroos wanted too much money for the role he played at Bayern - both on the pitch and in the dressing room. He played good when the team did - and went down with it when it did not. And was not very high in the team hierarchy. And I guess that 2012 CL final when he did not have the balls to shoot a penalty is something that Rummenigge and Co. still blame him for either - not enough balls.

Kroos passing game is world class. Surround him with the right midfield colleagues and you will have the best midfield in Europe. He is not dynamic and does not really have a big defensive sense - he is a pure 8. He brings stability into the match - but needs defensive cover and somebody that brings surprise factors and velocity into the match. If you do not have this factors there always will be problems - either in offense or with the defense...

I am not a Kroos' fan. He has world class parts in his game - but is too less well rounded for me. I do not think that Bayern made a mistake with letting him go. Alonso is a great personality in the dressing room and matches better to the Bayern game and team than Kroos ever did. And for the future our midfield does not look bad with Kimmich, Thiago and Vidal - from which one cannot even play as long Müller is used in this role as mixture between 8 and hanging striker.

You're a little pace whore like myself it seems. You don't mess around with your requests and I love it. Pogba, auba, and alaba would be a dream window. No chance sadly.

Well if Kroos is just like Toure is playing now, perhaps we'll just have to make do with getting Thiago and Vidal instead.
;-)

We wont sign any bayern players. Kroos seems unrealistic but he is behind Isco, James and Modric under Zizou. Although Pep never rated him at Bayern i dont think hes suited for the Premier league. We look more linked with Xhaka and Gundogan.

Thank you young lady.

Pep certainly raved over him in "Pep Confidential " but as you know that only covered the 1st season.
