Toni Kroos

Surely Pep knows the qualities of Kroos. If he signs him then he must have a plan for the team's defensive aspect. Mustn't he?
For sure. If we signed Kroos it would be to fulfil a role in within the squad. He'd be complimented by other players, would be picked for the games that suited him etc.

No problem signing players that have different strengths and weaknesses, provided they're used correctly.

From tuttomercatoweb....

Still possibly leaving Real Madrid, after just two seasons spent playing for them, German international central midfielder Toni Kroos (26), already tracked by Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, has become a main target for Paris Saint-Germain as well; French giants, according to RMC, are ready to submit Blancos a 50 million euros indeed. Former Bayern Munich star player is currently on a deal with Merengues, living a troubled season, is earning an 11.8 millio euros annual salary.

Real Madrid - One of Pep's top targets for City
Guardiola gunning for Kroos

Pep Guardiola wants Toni Kroos for the centre of midfield at Manchester City. It was published in the English press on Wednesday and Real Madrid have known about it for some time. So too has the German midfielder who is 100% focused on his work with the Whites, but is not against the calls from the Premier League. It will be one of the big stories of the summer.

Guardiola knows Kroos well. They worked together in the 2013-14 season, the Spanish coach's first at Bayern. The current Real Madrid player made a big career move at the end of that campaign, but Kroos's decision to depart the Allianz Arena wasn't down to any disagreement with the manager, more to do with a lack of understanding with the Bayern directors. He had a year left on his contract and despite Guardiola doing all he could to convince him to renew his deal, he ended up leaving. The call from Real Madrid was decisive in convincing him and for 25 million euros he made the switch to the Bernabéu.

Two years later, Pep is back knocking on the door of one of his favourite central midfielders. The German is his priority for the middle of the park, but he's aware that it will not be easy to prise him away from Real Madrid. Although he doesn't always show his feelings, Kroos is happy with the Whites and happy in Spain, so his thoughts are on succeeding at the Bernabéu and winning trophies. His contract expires on 30th June 2020 and he currently earns around six million euros per year - what is true is that this amount would be bigger should he move to City.

Him and Gundogan in frot of the back 3/4 will be fucking superb. For me our inabilty to keep the ball has been our downfall this season. How many times have we been hit on the counter attack then conceded a goal and then the match? too fucking many. Kross and Gundogan will stop this. In all honesty if I could have two central midfielders in world football in the summer it would be Kroos and Gundogan. The good thing is it could be GundgON.

Kroos & Gundogan good defensively?
