Toni Kroos

That's like saying it's strange Mark Noble is left out when Danny Rose is going.

Mikel San Jose is a defender. Bruno Soriano is an out-and-out defensive midfielder, and Lucas Vasquez is a pacy winger/striker.

The names ahead of Isco are:

Cesc Fàbregas
Andrés Iniesta
Koke
David Silva

Thiago Alcántara

And I wouldn't consider any of them "strange" names.
San Jose can play central midfield (it's what he's listed as most places) and Isco can play on the wing.

He's losing out to a player with 0 caps.

Even then if he was as good as made out would he not have at least made it into that 5? Or perhaps replaced the 35 year old striker. Or even pedro.

I just don't get how it's regularly asserted that isco is one of the best players one the planet when the teams he plays for don't want to play him. Meanwhile even in the kroos, aubameyang, James and neymar threads people say they don't want them.

I've been saying for a few months now (much to the irritation of some of my friends) that I don't think Pogba's a Pep kinda player. From his agent to his hair cut to his general attitude and style of play, he strikes me as someone like Ibra, and therefore someone who Pep isn't really gonna want to deal with.

Maybe i've just been talking myself out of it though because I don't think he's coming to us ;)
As far as i can see,all fair comment Billy.

San Jose is going as a defender, that's why he's been listed as a defender in both the Spain announcements, and the official Euro 16 squad lists.

If being better than Thiago, Silva, Iniesta and Koke is your barometer for a decent player then you're a clown.

But then again you're suggesting Del Bosque drop his only in form striker or ruin any semblance of balance in the team by playing Isco on the wing, so perhaps you are.

The idea that Isco isn't worth signing because he's not made a squad for a country with probably the best strength in depth in his position ever, is embarrassing.

And no one is "regularly asserting he's on of the best players on the planet" either.

Because Del Bosque is so wedded to playing a big target man eh...

The phrase "Pep player" is probably the most annoying thing I see on here every week. Pogba's attitude is one of the best in the world, constantly wanting to improve. Character wise there is absolutely nothing wrong with and I'm sure if we got him Pep would have zero problems working with him.

Would anyone have said Vidal is a "Pep player" before joining Bayern? Probably not and he's been outstanding for them.

Have to admit I don't know much about Pogba's personality but he is a very gifted footballer but I am not sure that he is a better fit for how Pep is likely to set his team up than Kroos. I have a slight preference still for Pogba in an either or situation but I really want them both at City. I have said before that if we had a midfield three of those two and Gundogan next season, they can put the sky blue ribbons on the Premier League trophy in August. Unfortuantely, I don't get the vibe, from all the rumours, that we are going to go hard after both but, as these are the guys I most want us to sign, I don't want to get my hopes up so hope I am reading the runes incorrectly.

Same here. I love Pogba's drive and Kroos' range of passing. They'd work well together IMO. Doubt we'd be able to get both though and I would be delighted with either of them.

Yeah I'd agree, extremely gifted but we don't need him. We're in dire need of a Kroos

His personality is like night and day to ibra, and Pep 100% wants him, I'm not starting the Pog waltzers, there's one man still standing in the way, but like last year, mino is intent on getting the best deal for his client... This is moving very quickly, we'll know before the end of the month... Frankly, I think we'll get turned over but financially, still the biggest hitters, I just don't think we'll pay what's being asked!!!

Neither Pogba or Kross are going anywhere. Would we sell our best players? No, well neither would Juventus or Real Madrid

This fucks with my head big time Zin. How can anyone else give him a better deal? I'm probably extremely stupid here but are you saying that the option is there but we aren't willing to pay what's asked?

I don't know the numbers involved and naturally respect the need to work to a budget and get the best return on money invested in players; however, City have fooked about in the market in recent years and held back from making big investments that I think have essentially cost us two titles. Consequently, we need to play catch up in terms of getting back on track and we need the prestige of a Galactico signing. I use the word need advisedly because I think we can certainly win plenty if we don't do it but if we really want to be at the top table, we need to do it sooner or later.

If Pep 100% wants him then why on earth wouldn't Abu Dhabi sanction the deal? Not to put to fine a point on it, but that makes no sense to me because they've coveted Pep for four or five years. They've had the club almost in holding pattern the last two years. Now that he's in, why wouldn't' they give him exactly what he wants. Especially when by giving him that player, they also send out a statement across Europe from a footballing perspective about just how powerful a club they are and how attractive they are to the world's best.

For my money and I ain't anywhere near as ITK as you, if City/Pep really want him, they'll get him. If he goes elsewhere it's because we weren't interested full stop.

Call me defeatest but I only see Pogba going to either Barca or Madrid, if as rumoured we are in for Kroos it surely is because Madrid want Pogba and we are in the financial triangle-If Pog wants Barca then who could we be in for from Barca?

Its a game of call my bluff all this, Pogba needs telling put up or shut up , we aint nobodys Patsy.

I'd say there are maybe 25/30 reasons why.... The Big clubs get this done at true market value, Pogs probably a 60/65m player currently, city however are still seen as soft touches, we will have to break the world record to get him, that's what is being quoted. As a club we can't be paying 25/30m over the odds, however much we want him... Personally I'd pay it but I'm not the man who makes them decisions, there's a reason for that (:

I've told you this many a time, mino is a motherfucker and whilst city continue to show an interest he'll rinse every last drop...

The price quoted to city isn't necessarily the price to every one else.... Unfortunately!!

Mate, I agree totally but we are hardly backwards in coming forwards with paying the going rate... Pogbas price is way above market value (imo), and we won't be bent over just for potential marketing purposes, if that was the case they would of payed the 160m they were quoted for messi....
