When you think about it:
1. Pogba has never made any secret of his preference to play at Real Madrid, for one reason or another (dislikes the rags over how they treated him, his respect for Zizou etc)
2. Real would then likely not have to match United's offer to land him.
3. It doesn't make any sense that Real aren't even a little more interested in Pogba, as they won't see another transfer window for 3 years and they'll need a galactico in that time (potentially as a replacement for an aging Modric)

I don't necessarily think Real are going to hijack the bid though, it does seem a little too late on now, but you never know.
