My point was the use of a gif clip as proof of a wrong decision. I've already posted on here that Balotelli was fouled at the end (albeit following the ref missing the initial foul on De Jong in the build up to City's freekick beforethe penalty incident) but I'm sure if I could be arsed, and had the know-how, I could produce a 2 second clip from an angle that showed Balotelli shoving his hand in the defenders throat as a counter argument.I H8 Utd said:it wasn't a penalty m8 are you fucking blind if rooney got a penalty like that then certainly ballotelli deserved a penaltyJM Mcr said:Really? And that gif is one of the factors swaying you is it?St Helens Blue (Exiled) said:Really enjoyed the celtic game last bight and fair play to them.
JUst seen the gif of the Rooney penalty and am not surprised anymore.
I never used To be in the agenda camp but I am certainly swaying to this side now.
I actually think Rooney's penalty was, at best, very soft (as was the Braga penalty imo) but I don't think you can base any judgement on a 2 second gif of an incident, from one particular angle.
Seems to be a growing trend on here to back up debate on controversial decisions with the "evidence" of a gif. Such clips are always very brief and from the angle that best supports the posters argument, great for entertainment and encouraging debate but usually proof of nothing.
Photos/vid clips from a particular angle can be used to support most arguments but in isolation rarely prove anything.
