blueshortshorts said:Now I am probably miles off the mark here...but why does Portalnd TImbers ring a bell? for some reason I'm associating our old goalie Keith Macrae with them, but I can't find anything on wiki etc...or was it dennis tueart..someone at City on the 70's had a link with this club.
Bay Area Blue said:I'm in Portland now and will head to the pub in a few hours before going to the match. An article in the local paper amused me with a Timbers' players thoughts about squaring off against City: "It's going to be a great learning experience for us. Just seeing the mentality that Manchester City brings to the game is going to help us." Given our recent history of not quite being able to pull out the crucial wins like Tottenham and United, I wonder if our "mentality" is really that awe-inspiring. There does seem to be a buzz about town regarding City's stay here, and its not just people confused about whether we are Manchester City or Manchester United.
