Tony Blair

The perfect example of a modern day politician.

My mother who voted Tory all her life, voted for Labour because
she "liked Tony." I had high hopes when he was elected. He was the first
Labour prime minister since I was in primary school and I optimistically hoped
that all this New Labour talk was a front to get elected and then prove that
a true socialist government could be in the interests of the majority
of the population.

We never found out of course. Labour failed to reverse any of the anti trade union laws
brought in by the Tories. Never even addressed the possibility of re-nationalising the railways
as they had promised in their manifesto and to save myself about 10,000 words, generally
continued to run the country for the benefit of the same minority
of the population that we'd had for the previous, miserable, 18 years.

I highly doubt I will ever vote for Labour again. I couldn't bring myself to be actively supporting
a party that is now so far removed from its roots, that the pre-collation Lib. Dems. were to the left of.

Utter fuck-witted gob-shiting knob-ending self-serving oleaginous egotistical lying arse-licking
self-deluded catfart ever to hold the office.
Apart from that he was o.k.

As previous posters have said, it was a great shame that John Smith died. Would have been interesting to see Britain under a true Labour government.

and you my Sir are a wind up merchant (I hope)

Can i ask you why he was voted in again & again?

I think his term in office was summed up when Archbishop Desmond Tutu stated Blair should be indicted as a war criminal. No other british politician has ever been cited in such a way. I do not know why he was voted in again and again but it is to our utter shame that he was. To be ranked alongside Radovan Karadzic is not something we should ever forget.

He kept getting voted in because we had ten years of uninterrupted growth.

It's just that it was all based on credit and was the biggest house of cards ever created.

The man should be in prison at the end of the day.

Say you dont like the man, but the credit crunch wasnt a political or British cock up...

What ever you can say about him and the Labour party... at least they can claim to be an elected leader!!!

the pair of idiots in charge now are their based on more blatent lie's and spin than Blair could ever be accused of...

He was far too right wing.

Labour should be a true socialist party not an imitation of the horrible tories.
