Top 100 Favourite Male Vocalists Final plus # 1

This is an interesting take that I never thought of but I think you're right. His two early 80s solo records were very good.
I was thinking more about the last 15 years. His work with the Band of Joy, The Sensational Shape Shifters and of course the two beauties he made with Alison Kraus. These showcase his vocals better than almost anything he has done. There is good reason he isn’t interested in a LZ reunion. He is too busy making more interesting music.

I know the Band of Joy stuff but not much else. I should listen. I didn't vote for him though he'd be in my top 20 easily.

Percy was my #1 pick.

As others have pointed out, his work post Zep has been excellent. His latest album with Alison Krauss is another excellent record and his vocals are in fine fettle, they have aged like fine wine.

Look forward to seeing him and AK at Hyde Park this summer.

He was in my top 10 (just) but for his stuff outside of LZ. You must have listened to his collaboration with Alison Kraus, produced by T Bone Burnett who I really like. Really nice songs well sung by both of them. The instrumentation and production are top notch,

George Michael

Pretty sure we heard the ambulance on its way to poor George the day he died. Also think I walked past him in Leicester Square one evening. I did see him perform at Wembley in the Freddie Tribute; the way gig and he was absolutely brilliant; the job he did on "Somebody to Love"!

I wasn't a fan of his solo work or Wham - although their Xmas song has become a favourite of the genre - but he was a talent. Sad that he seems to have been such a tortured soul.
