Top 105 Guitarists - The Winner page 33

So looks like just me and Bimbo had the good taste to pick Steve Cropper :-)

Now I know this is about favourites rather than best but the fact that only one other person had Buddy Guy in their list caused me some sadness; but then I saw that he is below Bernard (and i say this as someone who has seen New Order more times than any other band) and JDB in this list and my sadness turned to rage as frankly this is a crime against music!!

But more seriously, if you like bluesy stuff at all and you are not familiar with him check him out, Buddy is in his mid 80's now and is still going at it. The people he got to guest on his 2022 album tells you all you need to know about the esteem in which he is held. Absolute legend.

Glad to see Duanne Allman in the list, one of the great "what could have been"s of popular music.
I'm the other Buddy Guy, guy.......also had Duanne !

Not really. It is favourite guitarist, not most technically proficient.

I know, it's freezing cold and I'm just having a moan :-)

It is interesting though because I have seen new order literally dozens of times over the years and to me they are one of the great bands of my lifetime but it never even occurred to me to consider Barney for this list.

I like New Order (a lot) but his placing in this list v. some others, including Zappa, is pretty bizarre.

I had Bernard on my list for his work with Joy Division. However, he's not currently the best guitarist in New Order technically. That would be Phil Cunningham who also continues to shine in Sea Fever, as he has also done in the past in Marion.
