Top 105 Guitarists - The Winner page 33

So looks like just me and Bimbo had the good taste to pick Steve Cropper :-)

Now I know this is about favourites rather than best but the fact that only one other person had Buddy Guy in their list caused me some sadness; but then I saw that he is below Bernard (and i say this as someone who has seen New Order more times than any other band) and JDB in this list and my sadness turned to rage as frankly this is a crime against music!!

But more seriously, if you like bluesy stuff at all and you are not familiar with him check him out, Buddy is in his mid 80's now and is still going at it. The people he got to guest on his 2022 album tells you all you need to know about the esteem in which he is held. Absolute legend.

Glad to see Duanne Allman in the list, one of the great "what could have been"s of popular music.

Two more of mine in there.
John Mitchell - Arena, It Bites, Frost etc. love his versatility and various styles.
John Petrucci of Dream Theater. I did get swayed by his widdely widdely shreading but my god he can play.

Dave Davies #42. You really got me changed music forever. Nothing like it had ever been heard. The Yardbirds and Animals had a go(even the Beatles hadn't cracked that sound yet)but this was different gravy. for that alone, he should be higher. When you hear so many musicians say that it was this song that inspired them, 42 seems a bit shite. Quite a distance behind
Hendrix, Page and Claptons of the world, but his gift to music can never be underestimated. God bless his razer blades. P.S Anybody who says it was Page who played You really got me will be laughed at.Thats utter bollocks!
