And because we couldn't really afford them we also had to lose better players who would have served the bigger picture better.
 
steve daley ,(record uk signing about £1.5m or £35m in todays money) adebayor (waste of space , plays for himself and moneyhated by fans of every club he has played for)), jo (over £20m for a player on the stength of a you tube clip) there are plenty more , but these three take some beating.
