Similar position in Scotland. The TV deals over the past 20 odd years heavily distributed cash to the top two to ensure that Rangers and Celtic dominated. Add in the European CL Revenue which both Rangers and Celtic generally had until fairly recently, and you have a lop-sided distribution model that totally destroyed the competition and in turn led to a reduction in the value of the TV deals.This is exactly what happened in Spain, and they had to change it back again because it became way to uncompetitive. One of the reasons the Premier League makes so much more money than La Liga in the first place is because games aren't a foregone conclusion.
