Top Man t-shirt sparks outrage

“What goes around comes around”

“Karma”

A rose

Even if it is Hillsborough related, which I doubt but would need to know facts regarding the designer, is it not supporting the “cause”

After all they sing “justice for the 96” so why they so up in arms with its use?

A shirt in red with a big 96 on the back and karma on the sleeve and you can't understand why they are upset?
96 football supporters never came back from a match, & you think it's "karma"
It's design may or may not have been deliberate, but the potential is there and clearly so.

Correct, 96 people died attending a football match , anybody with an ounce of decency can see why this is so offensive.

have the Scousers patternted the number 96?
I understand 96 people dying at a football match is shocking but it is a number on a tee shirt get a grip ffs

Fashion designers aren’t known for their deep knowledge of football, trust me, I have to work with some of them, many hate football/sport, and wouldn’t have a clue

So the number 96 should be removed from football in case scousers get offended. Behave.

There is a clear reason to why the number was used as well as the word Karma.

It’s s blokes top modelled by a fella. Someone must have clocked it surely?
What if the model is a 22yo lad from some other country? the likelihood he would make that connection is very small as this happened a long time ago to those in their 20's, it is news before their time even. Even here i know one bloke who is a bit of a stereotype homosexual fella. He works at a design agency doing something, not sure exactly what. He is in his 40's but i am sure he would have no idea to. He likes music and fashion, football is something not even on his radar. For those outside of football who are younger than the event; any knowledge of how many died is likely to be unknown to them.

It could be a nasty trick from someone who does know, i am not saying it is not. It really could be innocent though just as easily.

I guess the more natural thing to have done would be to use the number 69 in the design rather than 96 as it would have been a more obvious yin-yang reference. But 69 was probably considered unusable because of its other connotations.
Do you mean we can't use 69 as us winning the cup that year made Lineker cry?

This is a prime example of what is wrong with society in general. People being "offended" by such things that clearly are not deliberate. Of course i can see why families of the victims would make the link but to turn round and say everyone should know about this tragedy etc is just plain ridiculous.

There wss clearly no intent and its not deliberate yet there are people who are so desperste for attention they will turn it into something it isnt.
They got what was deserved in terms of retribution from the findings of the official investigations....justice in the end was done....

Now let the dead RIP

I can understand peoples grief but it is now time to move on. Would we be having the same discussion if it was claret with the number 56 on it. (Bradford) or 39 in black and white
