Top ten albums of all time

There's something I've seen on Facebook where you list the 12 albums that have stayed with you over the years. So maybe not your current favourites but those that you still enjoy listening to and are still important to you today
Maybe it is the discrepancy between what I like and what I think should be on the list :-) I almost don't dare admitting it but I love Status Quo. They do not belong on the list though.
I was big Queen fan back in the days, but for some reason I almost can't listen to them any longer.
I am not on Facebook by the way :-)

Early Quo were great fun.

Was listening to Queen's A Night at the Odeon (the famous Xmas Eve 1975 Hammersmith gig) on the way home from the Villa game and it is a magnificent hard rocking beast.

I don't usually put lists together like this. For me its totally impossible to give a difinitive all time top ten. There are just so many to choose from. Then its how to pick them out, do I go for what would be deemed as classics or are just personal to me. Here's the first ten very personal albums that came to mind today.......in no particular order

Jeff Healey.........Hell To Pay
Thin Lizzy...........Live & Dangerous
SRV.......Texas Flood
JJ Cale.........Naturally
Janis Joplin..........Pearl
INXS...........Live Baby Live
Carole King.........Tapestry
Nick Drake..........Bryter Layter
Rainbow............Rising
Springsteen.......Darkness On The Edge Of Town

I'm sure tomorrow's would be very different.

Yeah...missed that bit. Must be the old eyes.

Stone Roses are a very much Marmite band though. You have to be of a certain age to really think they should have any album in any top 10. There really are hundreds of albums that are better than any of their turgid offerings. But hey...one man's meat etc etc.
You like Clawfinger for fuck's sake. The band who put the 'absolutely fucking c' into rap.

Exile on main street - the Rolling Stones
Thick as a brick - Jethro Tull
Wish you were here - Pink Floyd
IV - Led Zeppelin
Poland - Tangerine Dream
Fish Rising - Steve Hillage
The Lamb lies down on broadway - Genesis
The River - Bruce Springsteen
Dark side of the moon - Pink Floyd
Bundles - Soft Machine
