The difference with Chelsea is that like R Madrid, they win things on a regular basis. They are the current Cup and League winners in our country, therefore blowing £50m and £185k a week wages is seen as adding to that success. People saw what we did as just throwing money at something to get into that group, and players coming here were saw as coming here for the money in the majority, which is true too. We have no recent history to attract the players in other words, hence the ruining football tag. No one should care about that anyway, who cares what anyone else says? Thats the difference though, Chelsea are successful so attracting a marquee player isn't seen as a player only going there for the money. Thats how I see it anyway.
