I agree. But it felt like he was going out of his way to make the points. He described next Wednesday as "a dream come true to play in the semi final" when answering a question about City's record in the Carabao. Be interested to know what anyone else who watched the presser thinks.

Spurs would not rip that team apart.

Spurs are nowhere near the level of Chelsea.

In the club‘s existence we have only got this far in the most important competition we can win once. That comes first.

In a few years The Carabao Cup won’t exist and we have won it so many times already.

I want to win it but not at the expense of the CL

Yeah I get why people are upset it may not be our strongest XI but the disrespect to some of the other players is staggering. Sometimes I feel Pep's worst crime on here is having faith in his players.

Judging by Guardiola's comments just now, the team on Sunday is going to be heavily heavily rotated. He laboured the point that normally this final takes place in Feb but this year it's in the busiest part of the season. He also laboured the point that his priorities are the PL and the CL. I now expect:

Steffen, Cancelo, Dias, Laporte, Mendy, Fernandinho, Rodri, Gundo, Torres, Sterling, Jesus.

That’s the team I posted above, but with Garcia instead of Dias.

That’s gotta be the first time in a pep press conference he openly admits about having an eye on a future game. Usually says next game is the most important etc. He really wants the champions league and I expect a very rotated side.

although stones is suspended and is free for PSG game I think pep will go with Laporte who imo has been player at a higher level than stones since the international break

Nothing wrong with Sterling and or Jesus but we have to get the ball to them. Against Chelsea we havd Fern and Rodri in midfield and it was only when the subs came on late in the game that we could get our forwards into the game.

Kane is a huge miss for them, we are heavy heavy favourites even with a changed team.

Kanes massive for them. He's the reason they got a point against Everton.

Id leave Torres and Ake out for Mahrez and Diaz.
