Just seen the reply and Bale WAS offside
Again Atkinson gets it very wrong
not offside, learn the rules

My interpretation on this is..... Cech gets sent off for the foul (last man) but before stopping play Ref plays advantage to Spurs see what happens, goal stands. Cech gone.
But that's not what any ref will do, its never a red because a goal was scored! Had bale missed a red would be appropriate

Yep my interpretation also. They mentioned a similar situation where the GK got sent off. Surely this is written in the rules somewhere. All the Spuds bench thought he should have gone irrespective of the goal.

Again and it has already been explained by the 4th official at the game, Cech could not be sent off after they played on and scored

that seems odd considering how many times you see a ref wave play on and then go back and book a player after the ball has gone out

Goal keeper rules are strange

when advantage is played outside the penalty area players are often booked afterwards. Goal should have been awarded and Cech sent off FFS. These cunts dont know the rules.

Well according to ITV and the 4th official the ref was spot on so yeah they do know the rules

Good job eh

We have RULES for the competition, but the games are played according to the LAWS OF ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

So Bale hits the post does the ref think 'oh fuck I better bring it back and give the penalty and send Cech off'

As long as Bale scores the ref and Cech gets off the hook

No, goal kick, after sending Cech off.
I agree, had bale missed I'm not then going to give them a penalty, open goal is better than a pen!

Even when a clear goal scoring opportunity has been scored

How would that make sense

I'll have the goal kick but how can you send Cech off, the goal scoring chance was still there from the advantage but Bale bottled it and fucked up, hardly Cech's fault and why should he be punished for Bales woeful miss.
