My interpretation on this is..... Cech gets sent off for the foul (last man) but before stopping play Ref plays advantage to Spurs see what happens, goal stands. Cech gone.

But that's not what any ref will do, its never a red because a goal was scored! Had bale missed a red would be appropriate

But a ref did. They mentioned it.

The ref didn't let it play on, he gave the penalty straight away and sent Lehman off

It's a shame this game won't be solely decided by that terribly decision any more. A 2-1 win would have really put more light on it. It's certainly highlighting the far greater technical ability of the Chelsea squad though.
