PSG's Qatari owners looking to invest in a Premier League club and have met with Daniel Levy.

Interesting.

According to Sky.
Spurs are denying talks have taken place. Well they would wouldn't they?

Seriously, if this happens then it would be hilarious. Nothing against the Spurs fans who post on here as they're all decent enough but a significant portion of their fanbase have been as vocal as any other set of fans in their condemnation of City and "oil money", etc.

Whether there's any truth in it, I've no idea - plus I'm not sure how it would work in terms of vested interests if both Spurs and PSG were in the CL - but it's interesting to note that Levy does have links to Qatar as evidenced by the pic on his Wikipedia page.

It’s more of buying a % of spurs not outright buyout

Watch the world class level mental gymnastics happen.

I remember some Newcastle fans declaring to halt their support if they were state-owned. Wonder how many actually stopped watching now they're seated in 3rd.

"We need the money to compete with City, it's all City's fault, we aren't hypocrites, really!"

But but but they buying nitid. Have the media lied to me ? Im shocked, nay devastated. Why would they buy Spurs rather than the worlds greatest club?

They'll offer eleventy gazillion quid and Levy will pause at the last second before signing the contract and demand a new washing machine thrown in for his mrs or something.

Haha, yes, I've come out with that too.
But it really is an absurd argument. United in the 90s were able to go out and spend pretty much what they liked in order to get the person they wanted. Ferguson was right to do it, too, no question. Only Chelsea started to be able to compete with them in those stakes in the noughties. They had to ‘buy’ the league too. Leicester are alone in not having had to do it, and believe it that will happen as often as Halley's comet appearing in the sky.
Come to that, we had to pay what was then very serious money to prise Franny away from Bolton.
The other comment I like to make to gobby Spurs fans is that the last time they won the league I was in knee socks and shorts. That happens to be true.
It was four months before I was born, so no, I have never seen Spurs win the league.
