Tour De France 2011

A satisfying day for the Schleck’s. I thought Leopard Trek had got their tactics wrong when they upped the pace on the Tourmalet - that they had burnt out too early - but it paid dividends at the end. Contador is certainly struggling somewhat. He looked in fine fettle in the Giro but perhaps the exertions of that are beginning to show, and the crashes last week can’t have helped either. Cadel has looked impressive thus far and he hasn’t given any indication of cracking on the climbs, although there’s still time obviously.

Anyway pleased that Sammi Sanchez won, I always enjoy watching him attack.

yes love this part of the race.... Well done to the Schelck bros today worked hard and i think it helps even more that your brother is there to help sort out splitting the group up....

not sure where or how others watch it?? I myself enjoy itv4 highlights in the week..... There was a blue in our home kit from last season taking pictures on the climb today...

I like to watch it dressed as a giant milk bottle while doing laps of the living room and shouting 'Allez'.

No, I'm lucky enough to be able to watch the Eurosport coverage during the day, it's always interesting, especially Carlton Kirby's input.

You may well laugh but it’s a joyous interactive experience!!

For the mountain stages I get up at 6am and position myself half way up the stairs and then ring my cow bell furiously every time the cat passes by throughout the day. If she’s just strolling I like to give her a good shove for encouragement or cool her down with water. It’s all part of the fun.... although admittedly the rest of the house weren’t too chuffed when I carved her name in chalk on the carpet.

Haha great mental images with both those posts, vive le homegrown tour!!

Strange day today, didn't quite live up to the expectations. I really felt we would get an idea of who would be the man donning Yellow in Paris but I'm still none the wiser. Great stuff from Voeckler, he looks very capable at the moment.

I've decided I don't like the Schlecks, they seem quite arrogant in interview - come on the spaniards!!

I hope Voeckler wins it outright would be great to see. Great battling by him to cut his losses to seconds with the hardest stage out of the way.
Sadly for a Irish view Nicolas Roche got dropped on the 2 climbs after the first he got back on but went out the back with 10 km to go. His bit of a injury he got from a earlier race he hasnt seemed up for it so far. Thankfully the next 2 days with tomorrows flat stage and the rest day before the Alps hopefully he can recover for that stage on Tuesday.
