Tour De France 2013

Amazing finish in one of my favourite sporting events. Felt for Cav, I'm sure the bus fiasco led to rider confusion and ultimately caused that final crash. Props to commentator Phil Ligget who predicted Kittel as the winner.

Geraint Thomas off for an x-ray :(

Tony Martin has broke his collar bone.

Hope G is ok :(

What a finish, drama, carnage all part of a good tour IMO

My fantasy team are virtually all on the deck!! Martin is out, Contador and Sagan heavy falls, lol. There's always next year!!

Just the 5 of my 9 riders caught up in the crash.

According to Team Sky website Geraint Thomas has been checked out and has been given the all clear :)

I believe you have 8 transfers buddy so get on before tomorrow's stage. There's a lot of racing to go yet.

Have a look at the placings in the results. So many big names finishing very low down.

Carnage obviously

The late crash took care of a few key stage winners / green jersey contendors for today but it's way too early to judge anyone's form except Tony Martin's... his early withdrawal is a shame as he is a really talented rider.

See that pic of G Thomas? He is sooo skinny it's unreal. Guess he's going all out to be Froomster's dog. Hope he's alright.

The Tour organisers take a lot of stick, but I was really chuffed yesterday to see that they're prepared to listen to the fans and give us exactly what we want. Well done ASO, 'Busbarrier' was inspired, can't wait to see what's next!

I like the collapsing banner idea, get them in the tour, it'll be great!

LOL it would be like an obstacle course :))

Nice to see Dan Martin being given the nod by Garmin Sharp, no team leader at the moment so he could go very well, big break through for the lad this year with the liege Bastogne liege and winning the Tour of Catalunya, Top 5 shot.

And if he was Team leader I would have a serious look at Quintana for a podium.

I hope Froome wins it of course but one thing in Contador's armoury is the ability to gain help from pretty much every Spanish rider out there, all set to be a corker was over there last year for a couple of stages and the Buzz is brilliant.

My Cycling News Fantasy Tour Team

Froome, Quintana, Pinot, Kloden, Martin, Voeckler, Voigt and two whippets Cavendish and Sagan

I will be out there from the 9th to the 20th, stating near Toures for 2 stages and then on to Grenoble as a base for some of the stages in the Alps.

I really fancy this kind of thing. What are the logistics involved beyond a normal holiday? What time do you have to be 'up the road' etc?

For a mountain stage very early maybe 8 hours or so, plenty camp out overnight and the camper vans arrive days before.

Thanks. It will be my first te seeing the Tour live so might go for the over nighter on Alp D'huez. The plan had been to drive from Grenoble early and get up on the Alp on the ski lift but this might not allow enough time.
