Toure brothers

Mali are shit too ( even with Keita) so the Ivory Coast would need to have a nightmare not to make the final. I hope the Toures win it and come back full of confidence.

We have been dominant in midfield and defence since they left for Africa but could really have done with Yaya for today. He will still be easily good enough to play for the Ivory Coast in 2015 - say in holding midfield. It will be up to him whether he still fancies it so I hope he calls it a day and goes out with a win.

No South Aftica have been knocked out there will be more empty seats than in O.T. At 6 - 1. Hope playing ACON two years running has been a financial disaster.

I hope Ivory Coast win the ACON and the Toure brothers come back feeling good with a taste for more success.

Teams are aware of this tournament when they buy players who may be involved in it, so can't really moan about missing players due to it I guess
But did we know when we bought Yaya that there would be a tournament in both 2012 and 2013?
If we didn't it's our own fault, as it was already planned.
The scheduling of the ACON was changed to bring it into line with the wider footballing calendar. I'm not sure we did know.

I think I'd have still signed the Toure brothers though!

Anything can happen in a Q/F, and it will be physically very tough. If they go through then they are guaranteed to be still there next weekend as there's a 3rd/4th place play-off next Saturday

I hope the Super Eagles win

According to Wikipedia, the decision was made to switch the years in May 2010, and we signed Yaya in July 2010, so we should have known. Not really a reason not to sign him though, as he's been immense for us.

If Ivory Coast come back and win today we may as well wish for them to win the whole thing, even if they were to get to the next round and lose they'd have to stay to play the 3rd place game.
