Toure Signed?

If you want to talk about United we can but I am here to talk about your clubs transfer dealings because I find them very funny and overpriced

Dear Mr Rag,

Why is buying Tevez funny and overpriced? Baconface wanted to buy him for 25 million!

You can't seriously think that Michael "BUPA" Owen will be a better signing than Tevez or Adebayor?

Toure and Adebayor were 2 first team players from a top 4 side, why are those transfers funny?

Gareth Barry was wanted by a side that has a realistic chance of being champions this year, why is that transfer funny and over priced?

Roque Santa Cruz is here for the reserve team, you know the one, every "TOP 4" team has one to enter the Carling cup.

I seem to think that you rags think they are funny and over priced purely becasue a team from outside the "TOP 4" have the impudence to buy some decent players, let me tell you my pathetic likkle rag friend, the "TOP 4" is not an exclusive club, CITY are coming, make no mistake, CITY are coming. Now get back to your nice suburban house in Surrey, tune in to Manure TV and watch the season unfold, watch the BLUE rising, and one day Mummy and Daddy may let you come 180 miles north to Stretford to watch your beloved rags. Don't take too long though because by then the MIGHTY CITY and Notts county may well be 2 of the "TOP 4" !!!!!

Ok, I'll bite, on the condition that you explain how anything can be overpriced in relation to the finances available to the club ?

Your not biting mate, I am here for an honest debate. Personally, i believe that a players price is determind by his talent, ability, mentality, age, sell on value and commercial value. His value has noting to do with the finances available to the club. However, if City feel that they will overspend and sign players then that is fair enough.

what is overpriced to you is not to us .its like a tramp who gets along picking up freebies and a guy in a roller with limitless amounts of cash...a three course meal to the tramp a feast, to the other guy pretty normal ......get it........now fuck off

Veron?
Barthez?
Djemba Djemba?
Kleberson?
Taibi?
Smith?

Fucking hilarious!

Veron was a flop simple as really, was one of the few utd transfers that really excited me though at the time.
Barthez was a world cup winning goalie and his errors will always be remembered instead of him being pretty decent.
Djemba Djemba was poor
Kleberson was never given a chance in the right position, he was a CM played outwide.
Taibi - Oh dear
Smith - Never liked him, never will

In our situation a players value is determined by whether he is an improvement to the squad (covers the talent, ability, mentality) commercial value is a bonus but irrelevant as the plan is to grow the Manchester City brand (urgh) not the individual players, sell on value is irrelevant in our dealings. therefore the clubs financial situation is related to the value we put on a player, just not in the terms the rest are currently used to.
So again how are any of our signings overpriced to Manchester City ? and if the answer you finally should get to is "They aren't" then whats your concern ?

Nothing can, hence why I've never had a dig at the price. If you want to spend £100m on someone then fair do's to you but you know you are going to get grief from other people about it.
The thing that amazes me is that some city fans lived off the "lickle old ciddy" tag and secretly loved it. Its those fans that are now coming out and screaming at SSN, The Sun and any other media outfit that dares give you any grief. Surely it was expected and will get worse before it gets better.

Live the dream I say, if it all falls down I'll give you some grief but I don't think it will, these arabs are winners and will look like complete cockends if they mess this up BUT be prepared for some abuse, it comes with the territory i'm afraid.

Straight up questions and banter I actually enjoy, but underhanded bollox like trying to come on looking like a blue is just sad and pathetic really, hence I stuck my oar in.

Your own analysis is fine by me, yes I expect abuse, some justified to an extent but mostly born out of jealousy. You at least make no bones about your identity and that gives you more validity in my eyes, unfortunately if your a rag then that does more damage than your openness ;o)

Errrr. But why is this thread turning into a discussion about united players and what everyone thinks of them? Isn't that off-topic.

Jim, need your Thread Closed Stamp mate.

Blanc was a stop gap and didn't really work, wouldn't mind him back one day as manager, doing a great job in France so some positives could come from it
Forlan - struggled with the premiership but obviously a great player, been up there with the best over the last 2 seasons in spain, I would have him back
Hargreaves - can't be judged yet, hes been injured. However when he did play in 2008 he was MOTM in pretty much all our big games (arsenal, european cup final), we may have won the league last year but he was a huge loss in certain games, he will be a huge bonus if he can come back this season
