trade unions

I work on the railway and thus have a very strong trade union. I am well paid, have good working conditions and am treated like a valued member of staff. My wife has worked in call centres where unions are banned, and has had her toilet visits timed by stopwatch by a twat in a tie. Make your own mind up on the value of a trade union.
Good point, that Crow is still seen as a **** through most peoples eyes though.

I will admit Crowe comes across as a Cnut, but you cant base a debate about unions on one person, I work with some complete cnuts, but when we stand together for the same purpose we are strong, it's the whole point.

Seriously ernesto, most strikes are public sector. Most of the private sector just get on with it
because of why ?

In my personal opinion because they want to protect (naturally) their current working conditions. The problem is that the early retirement and pensions are not sustainable

Unions tend to hunt in packs though and this tool does them no favours.

nothing to do with people being dismissed for trade union activity, ie trying to get union recognition in the private sector. for the simple reason it may cost profits, and a decent working environment for workers. ? explain

-- Sun Jun 19, 2011 1:01 am --

I don't think your point relates to mine. Workers have every right to be represented. But I am not convinced that unions are always the best route. As has been said, bob crow is an arse who cries about rights and then ignores due process
