I once approached security in the Trafford Centre re certain people videoing around there and I was told there was nothing they could do as they were not breaking any law.....I have always thought that it is a cert target for terrorism and i know people who wont go there because of it!

Anyone remember 5 years ago? 10 people arrested as a result of a "plot" to release biological weapons at a Rags v Scousers game? All done in a blaze of publicity yet no charges subsequently. I'm very cynical about all this stuff (particularly as this is the most cynical government we've probably ever had).

Don't forget that it's not long ago that Pakistan was accused over the Mumbai massacres and also there was the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. Just seems like it's a way of putting more pressure on Pakistan but also diverting our attention from domestic issues. Pound to a penny they won't find much and they'll all be quietly shipped back to Pakistan.

At the end of the day the places that were alleged to be targeted, would have been packed with families with young children from all walks of life, all different races and religions.

Terrorists don’t care who there victims are they carry out indiscriminate murderous acts with no thought for anyone.

The key word is "alleged".

On the record, the police are saying there is no firm evidence of particular targets but off the record they are spreading crap like this, in exactly the same way they did when they shot Menezes. The press were being fed complete lies about him running away from them, vaulting a barrier, etc. All proved to be complete and utter crap in the end.

These are the same papers that were assuring us Craig Bellamy "went on strike" at West Ham. This was comprehensively proved to be complete baloney.

Instead of taking everything the Telegraph spouts as gospel, why not wait and see?
