Trailer Time...

Reboot incoming!!

TV show version with some changes.

Hope there aren't too many 'precious' people screaming about what's changed!

Can’t wait I hope they drop all at the same time as that’s my Xmas viewing sorted, there’s so much more in the books I think it will be great.

Second more interesting trailer of "Masters of the Universe"...

I'm going to struggle to breathe by the time June comes around.

"The Rise of He-Man" suggests that this may not be a stand alone movie.

Anyone know where you can order Minstrels and Roast Beef Monster Munch by the pallet load?

Never got into the whole Marvel/DC thing. But there's millions upon millions of fans out there, and the studios are undoubtedly raking in the money, so they'll continue churning them out. I'd do the same in their shoes!

Lots of people don't get into it or understand it.

Some people use all sorts for escapism, away from the life they live/d. Comic books were just another medium, like Japanese anime is today.

If you never transported yourself into another life through comic books, you will struggle with the film adaptations.

Trouble with the new tranche of marvel films you need to have watched the tv shows to know whats happened to the characters, for example Loki died in Infinty Wars but is now back but if you haven’t watched the tv shows (many which are shite) you’ll be confused. I’m looking forward to the new Spider-Man and doomsday but after the crap since IF it’s not saying much.

There is that. I do need to catch up on those series.

I think there is also the issue that they are trying to expand there market. And in by doing so are inadvertently alienating areas of the core demographic which is causing some backlash.

Same. I tried that new superman the other day. It was off within half an hour. My step son, aged 19, literally has sleepless nights when a new marvel or DC film is coming out.
I find them boring.

They totally fucked up with their diversity inclusion policies since Endgame, girl power and all that bollocks, same with Star Wars. The core audience is male and probably the older age spectrum as well, those that grew up with those IPs from 50-90s, having certain messages shoved down their throat along with piss poor writing just to try and appeal to a new demographic has royally backfired. They seem to be getting back on track as they’ve lost billions so maybe something can be salvaged sadly however I think the SW ip is fucked.

Yeah, I get you.

I think, though, if the filmmakers were serious, they'd not be number crunching data about what character is great, makes money or whatever, the character's progression and or ending would remain just that.

However, it's not the directors doing this, it's the execs. By now, 'Young Avengers' should be in play, but they're not because there's too much money in 'Wolverine', 'X-men', 'Avengers' cos they're afraid to lose the money attached to them. I mean, ffs, Patrick Stewart is 85 and they STILL want to drag him back to play 'Prof X'!!

I think, also, part of the problem is the modern comics reaching back to retell new stories with old characters, so have different outcomes. I think this plays into the directional confusion and changes of character arcs in films that make no sense.

I get fed up with it myself!

With that said, the 'Loki' series has been the BEST Marvel TV show outside of 'Legion', which I still maintain was ahead of its time!

The trouble is, they HAVE to expand the market because the old familiar actors cannot continue to play the old familiar characters forever. It's not the character, it's the attachment the audience has to the depiction from the actor playing them.

It's why the newer [younger] version of 'X-Men' failed so badly.

Legion is my favourite Marvel show, Noah Hawley really took it to some weird & wonderful places. Dance-off anyone? I was hoping a de-aged Patrick Stewart would appear but oh well. I enjoyed Loki, Wandavision & Daredevil too but there have been far more turds than diamonds.

The movies have been mostly awful too imo. Brand new day's the first Marvel movie I've actually been excited about since No way home.
