Colour me completely unconvinced. Man of Steel was absolutely phenomenal, this looks like it's aimed at the much younger audience, and by that I mean teens.
Man of Steel was ok but didn’t really capture the spirit or feel of Superman and what the character is really about.
This new movie is very much based on the silver age of Superman and the comics he came from rather than trying to be a ‘dark & gritty’ Superman which appeals to ‘cool kids’.
Probably worth noting that the last DC universe attempt also absolutely bombed but things are in much better hands now.

Better. Big superman fan, Big James Gunn fan. but this just fell flat to me.

I think Gunn wants to lighten the tone up for comedic purposes as well as bring a hopeful tone to the proceedings.
I think he's quite a comic book nerd.

Yes, I agree.
I, much prefer, the 'Man of Steel' outlook with a kind of morality power struggle within the framework of Snyder's vision that never got explored as it should have.
Shame.
However, I like the clear difference between the 'Kent' and 'Superman' personas.

I want to agree... But I see both sides of what 'Superman' offers. There's the 'saviour complex' which is valid and also the 'symbol of hope' which is also valid!!
So, I have no opinion on these views!

I'm primarily a horror film fan so a dark and gritty superman was perfect for me, this has a feel like an avengers film, just too light and fluffy imoMan of Steel was ok but didn’t really capture the spirit or feel of Superman and what the character is really about.

Yeah, it comes across!
He does very well in filling in the gaps between panels from comics onto the films. It's quite impressive that he's not really made a duffer, so I expect good things from him for this film.

thing is I dont doubt this will be a good film. the trailer didn't work for me tho. the teaser to the teaser tho gave me goosebumps.
