Pellers has decided that training on the day before matches will be carried out on the Etihad pitch to give the team the chance to familiarise themselves with their surroundings
This is starting from today incase anybody is thinking of trekking down to Carrington
Think this is an excellent idea, Mercer and Allison often had the team training on Maine Rd

That is a good idea. More forward-thinking from the manager.
Slight headache for the ground staff though but shouldnt really be a problem as the pitch is pristine, should help the newcomers as well

I love this.

Small decision but can't see anything but positives here
What are the positives if I may ask?
A feel for the stadium?
A feel for the pitch?
A feel for positional play on that pitch?

That's just 3 off the top of my head and i'm sure someone with far more footballing knowledge than me will be able to come up with more.

We've come a long way since Joe Royle used to take the players to a local school in a mini bus for the pre match warm ups before games at Maine Road as they were intimidated by the ground haven't we!
