I love this.

Small decision but can't see anything but positives here
What are the positives if I may ask?
A feel for the stadium?
A feel for the pitch?
A feel for positional play on that pitch?

That's just 3 off the top of my head and i'm sure someone with far more footballing knowledge than me will be able to come up with more.
The pitch is identical to Carrington's.

I don't see any negatives, but I very highly doubt it will have an effect. Don't buy the arguments, either, but I'll just sit and observe if it makes a difference.

It might be identical in the fact it's the same size, cut and colour but there are other factors to consider, like the fact it's surrounded by the stadium they are going to play in. I can see where he's coming from by doing this and, as you say, there are no negatives so why not see if those few positives come to fruition?

I don't really see how this will affect us that much but let's see what happens. Our home form hasn't exactly been a problem in recent seasons.

It will make more sense though when we're training at the campus everyday from next season.

Replied just as I edited my post.

As I said in my edit, I'll wait and see what comes of it, but I'm skeptical that it will enhance our already superb home performance.

Oh and the surface is the same as well.

Am I the only one that thinks it's pointless?

No

"Ok lads you can open your eyes now. This..." dramatic sweep of the arm "...is the Etihad. You will be playing a lot of games here so get used to it, familiarize yourself with it, make it your second home. As you can see there are stands all the way round..." a babble of excited astonishment breaks out "...yes, yes I know its impressive, but don't be daunted its going to our stage now. Own it. Be at one with it. With me now. Hold hands and get into a circle and lets sing the team song

'Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya
Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya
Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya
Oh Lord, kumbaya

Someone's crying, Lord, kumbaya
Someone's crying, Lord, kumbaya
Someone's crying, Lord, kumbaya
Oh Lord, kumbaya...' "

Yeah ok I'm sold. Should do wonders for our home form.

I live not far from the Carrington training ground and the sooner the new complex near the Etihad is finished the better.
To put it bluntly Carrington is not an ideal place for a training ground...it stinks literally.... there is a farmer very close to the ground who uses the vilest manure on his fields you could ever smell i am sure its pig shit, it gets so bad some days we can smell it in Urmston 2 miles away so god knows what Pellers thought first time he got a whiff, there is also a shit farm about half a mile away hidden near the Mersey, mix the two and you can imagine what its like!!
There is also the problem with the pylons all around the complex, the main wires go right over the training pitches it looks horrid and they buzz like mad esp when it rains.
A bit of a suave man like Pellers must have taken one look and smell and thought ''sod this''

Shame we can't train on opponents pitches a day before the away game, as this seems to be where the problem is. However I do like the idea of the team preparing on the pitch prior to matches

Well that will be solved when we move into the new training ground. Apparently there will be an exact replica of each premiership clubs pitch and the team will train on it in the week leading up to an away game

At least thats what the guide on the stadium tour told us anyway!
