The only sense is that you wouldn`t be late for Uni. Apart from that there is absolutely no sense.

30 mins away from town and you can`t get into town by 9am without getting up at 5.30am?? Where do u live? Maybe a blue on here can give you a lift on their way into work.
I go to salford uni. I live in bramhall. so there is a train into salford cresant at like 50 mins to or something like that, and thats every hour. So i get a train from bramhall at 7.58. A hour early would be a train at half 6, then a train at 7.50 in town.
I know for a fact there at are least 2 or 3 trains an hour from picc to Salford crescent and the same from Victoria.

You could get the train from Bramhall at 7:54 and get in to Salford crescent before 9.

Many years ago I often did the journey from Warrington to Edinburgh, often on a Sunday night. This was IIRC British Rail as it around 1993/94.

About three years ago I had a couple of months doing Rail Trips to Milton Keynes. Nothing had really changed in all honesty. Some good, some bad.

this is what I do but train always late cause how busy and with a ten min walk to my building I'm always 10 mins late.
It was fine last week but they have moved the train time for no reason whatsoever.

gets you there 13 mins early.

It's the age of the train as some nonce once said.

Use trains now and then and apart from having to stand sometimes (i just sit in first class or stand at the bar) i find them ok. Bit expensive but it means i can drink.

Im at uni in Huddersfield and get the train from salford everyday, always always always delayed coming back into manchester :(
