Transfer Strategy

I wouldn't want us going for players with no challenge because that would tell me they aren't good enough. To buy Kane was always going to be a hard job, one of the best strikers in the world, off the back of a Euros and dealing with a chairman who loves to play the role.

We have a clear strategy for the players we want. If we don't get them we don't bother, you buy second rate and 99% of the time you end up with someone who isn't good enough and ends up stuck on the bench or on loan somewhere because we can't sell them.

We very rarely go "scrambling", we usually have our business done very early. Dias was an exception and even then, it was reported we had looked at him months before, we just thought Koulibaily and Kounde were on the table. We swiftly moved to Dias and sold Otamendi.
If we knew levy was such a ball breaker then why didn’t we have a back up as it was 50/50 we would get Kane .

Not many strikers on the market and seemingly none that Pep wanted. You can't expect the likes of Ings, Daka, Andre Silva and whoeever else to sit around waiting for if we sign Kane or not.

Yep, we've done fab I agree. However what worries me a bit is those players were absolutely world class and now we've just got a tired KDB and potentially Phil as our world class players. It might not make any difference but I think it might
Yeah you take them 2 out of the squad and we are left with utter trash, mind you we have still got Dias, Stones, Gundogun, Sterling, Mahrez, Silva, Laporte, Grealish, Jesus, Walker. A top class academy with lots of potential for players to make the step up, so I can understand your worries, I don't know how you sleep at night.

I struggle to accept that Guardiola sits there and says he wants X and only X. He’s been too long in the game and too long here to know that such a strategy is flawed. He’ll also have known that Kane was a high risk target and that he should plan accordingly, which I hope involved giving weight to other candidates.

I wonder how this thread will go if we do actually sign somebody for up top..?

We walk away when we are getting shafted by other owners or players. We haven’t missed any of the players mentioned. We have a clear and established message, you piss us about and we’ll piss off, easy as that and it’s a better strategy than frivolous spending on money grabbers and greedy fucking owners, leave that to the needy cunts from Trafford or elsewhere.

i mean, transfer windows by their very definition can be either amazing or rubbish depending on one transfer. this is absolutely one of those times

Mbappe
Lukaku
Kane
Messi
Ronaldo

all wanting to move/moved this close season.

Haaland with a significant buy out clause.

Aguero told he would play second fiddle if he stayed.

Lets see what happens over the next week but making Kane our plan a,b and c isn't looking that clever at the moment.

Unless you are in procession of the real facts it’s pure speculation based none proven information circulated by biased media remember City don’t leak
not convinced they don't leak, but only what they want to leak, if that makes sense
