Travelling to Milan (Atalanta)

A few of us going over for this not been Italy before for football when you have to show id with your ticket does it have to be you're passport or will a driver's licence do? As don't fancy taking my passport out with me all day on the beer and at the match in case lose it.....

I think its passports. Also I would say they are pretty strict and that applies to everybody. Hard to believe but I went to Udinese v Panathanikos many years ago and went to buy my ticket on the day of the match, but without my passport. The ticket office refused to sell a ticket but incredibly dispatched a bloke on a moped to my hotel and picked up my passport from the hotel safe without my knowledge. That is customer service.

and piss poor security at the hotel if they handed over your passport to a stranger on a moped?

looks like quite a few tier 3 blocks closed for safety!

Plus if the numbers of Atalanta only taking 16k or so to date then they could have most of them on the lower tier and us on the second easily.

Hi, I'm an Atalanta's fan. Vs. Shaktar the few away fans (maybe 150-200) were placed on third tier blue (far away from picht, quite steep and crap view...). Being first ring sold out to 3 match bundle tickets home fans (except some pricey VIP places in the red stands), for general sales they opened up just the orange longside stand on 2nd tier/ring. Rest of the stadium (2nd an 3rd tiers except away stand) was closed. Probably with City there will be more than the 26k attendace we had vs. Shaktar so I feel they will also open up to general sale 2nd ring longside stand red. Please note 2nd ring blue and green behind the two doors are likely to be closed for all our home matched due to complains from local "ultras" of AC Milan and Inter Milan who did not want anyone in their home stands...
