Trent Alexander-Arnold

For what it's worth, the club and Guardiola would be all over him if the price is right. Talking about a manager who invented inverting full backs.

I know fans don't like signing players we once hated but we soon warmed up to Tevez.

I don't see it in January but at the right price I could see it in the summer. I think he would come play for Pep too. A loan to buy in Jan, maybe..

Don't think this is a good idea for January, no doubting his qualities but he's not a player that would come and just seamlessly slot in. You need to time and the organisation to build a team to compensate for his deficiencies, and at the moment we totally lack the central midfield to do that.

Would be fun to see how quickly the commentators / pundits changed their opinion of him from genius to overrated dross.

Could you imagine the fuss it would cause though? It isn't going to happen but it'll go nuclear down the east lancs.

I hope we don't go for him. We need proper defenders, he isn't the profile we need and he is at the end of his career.

I doubt anyone in the City recruitment team would touch him with a bargepole - if anyone of them would even consider it then that person should be sacked immediately, even the scouse have realized that he is a rubbish player, Nunes is 10 times better, TAA is just a crap player hyped up by the scouse media lackeys

Fuck this guy.
The **** has been disparaging about city fans previously.
He’s a prick and he can’t defend.
There’s no way the club should be looking at him.
Agree but I wouldn’t have too big of an issue if he was ok riding the bench and maybe playing a few minutes. His crossing is the only thing about his game that is special

So, we're still not signing a right back then?

I see the logic, his through balls would be useful for our forward line. I do think that he's burned his bridges for a return to Liverpool too, and it would be nice to see them having ruled themselves out of the race for him due to their own pettiness. We also love a bargain and after his flop show in Madrid he's probably available for cheap.

But I don't think he'd come to us also because of that hate. Too many nobs within spitting distance who'd have no issue visiting his new Manchester home to vent their anger. I also question if his work ethic is enough for Pep. Can't see him tracking back.

Also his 'it means more' comment to appease the Scouse masses means the fans would have issues with him before he even kicked a ball, and we do have a history of targeting our own right backs. I'd certainly expect him to do twice the work from day one, and it would only probably dissipate if he pinged in a winner at anfield for us.

I'd take him, let him help us win the league

Then loan him out to Everton to really piss them off.
