Trent Alexander-Arnold

I could see this happening.

Going back to a back 3.

Fb into midfield.

Wingers high and wide.

So a player who can play a pass and take a corner/set piece would be welcome. I still think he is a bit of a prick but he did learn Spanish before his move and he was very complimentary about city fans, basically rubbished the no fans and no atmosphere. Certainly not much different to any other team.

Could see a player like this being appealing.

Fine as a squad option. But as a starting 11 full back for a side who wants to get back to competing for the champions league and being the best in this league - Not good enough going forward to make up for the lack of positional awareness, lack of ability 1 on 1 and inability to move into the midfield to create overloads - don’t take my word for that to quote pep he is not intelligent enough to play in the middle.

One of our standout players in the last 12 months doesn’t take much we’ve been poor by our own standards. And he probably hasn’t even been one of our better few players he’s just the most improved as he’s gone from being dog shite in midfield to being an acceptable squad player as a right back option.

He works hard. I like that he’s fought his way into contention. That doesn’t mean he’s good enough to start for a side with our aspirations. The club know it and will buy a starting right back this summer.
I can’t be arsed because I can just use my eyes, but would bet if you went and checked his stats against players like Livramento, Arrnold, Timber, then Nunes would stack up as good or better. He’s been outstanding as a right back this season.Certainly a better right back than Arnold. To be honest not sure what Arnolds best position is, but it isn’t right back.

The one's that want him (shame on them) are thinking about the player that he was over two years ago. In fact his peak was probably four or five years ago. Maybe they need to watch more football, and not rely on memories.

No thanks.

I will never forget that and the way the Liverpool fans lived off it for months across social media.

Chatting bollocks cos you want someone with high potential on the latest fifa.

Nunes is the best right back in the league, get used to it. Livaremento couldn’t lace his boots and neither could players abroad you’ve never even seen play.

Appreciate what you have in front of you.

Madrid?

This was so inoffensive that the majority of the fans in that photo are grinning and somehow half of the forum is still rattled years later.

If this is the thing people are clinging to as a sign of bad character then it's a bit tame.

Indeed

Like I said earlier in the thread, if Bernado played for another club, everyone here would be saying he's a little **** and whatnot..

Considering Arnold is meant to be this massive dickhead, nobody can seem to point to anything that's shown him to be a dickhead off the pitch or anything that shows him to be a bad pro or has a poor attitude or anything...

Not arsed about signing him but the fact grown men on the forum are so against it because he shushed some fans just makes them have the mentality of sensitive and bitchy teenage girls

Imagine how he'd celebrating Infront of the kop if he played for us after all of the vitriol. I'm all for it

Sorry that makes no sense. RB is part of a back 4 defence.
Technically, sure. But we've played this way many times before.

We can and have played systems where one of the fullbacks is more advanced than the other and the other plays more like a 3rd CB.

It os not hard to envision a Scenario where a 3 of (Gvardiol, Guehi, Dias and Khusanov) play plus an attacking RB in Trent. Allowing us to overload the middle as the RW ( most likely Cherki/ Semenyo) plays more inside and let's Trent have the wide area.

For what its worth, Trent really isnt a major overlapping full back. A majority of his crosses are from the areas Kev used to like belting crosses from.

While unlikely to happen, I can comfortably see Pep loving a player with Trent's skillset.

You do get some very childish views when it comes to football.

I've no issues with anything he's said or done.

I'm more worried about his lack if defensive ability, even when he was at the top of his game, and the downturn in his form since. He's gone all out for this move to Spain and the fact its gone so badly is a bit of a red flag. It's a no from me.

Spot on. Typical of football fans who give it out but start crying when players give some back. Fuck all wrong with that goal celebration or the fans flicking the Vs at him - it's all part and parcel of the game!
