I'm sure the sub launched the missile fine, once launched the (US built) missile failed to fire properly. The sub has had a 7 month refit, so it will be undergoing sea trials, including a test firing, which is normal procedure I would imagine.

They will probably iron it out mate, I have every confidence. Some don't understand the principle of a test firing or don't want to.

Spot on. Tests not only the complete wepon system, but the whole submarine is capable (manpower and equipment)

Leaked info or not, there's zero use for a system that takes out the firing site.
