Trouble in the East Stand??

Right I've looked at the videos. The old bloke refuses to go with the police when asked. And puts up even more resistance when hands are placed on him. He works himself up?!!

Strong stewarding is needed but when you have people who when standing reply to a request with "f*ck off you c*nt" etc and turn and laugh with their mates, it's always an innocent bystander that get's caught up in it all.
That's not what happened. There was no swearing directed at the stewards before they waded in on this man and he was not an innocent bystander by your use of the term. He wanted to stand but he's someone who bothered trying to reason with them politely. Fatal error, rudely blanking them is by far the most effective tactic.

I think you pay the man the respect of talking to him so he can decide for himself whether he wants to be the face of a media campaign.

-- Sun Oct 16, 2011 6:12 pm --

Showsec had no legal right to put their hands on him. Perhaps you should try to read the past fifty pages.

I dont care who we do it through to be honest let's nail the fcukers!!

As long as the sun don't put there usual city fans fighting between themselves cause ugly scenes and results in old man unconscious spin on it like they normally do anything city related

Re: Ejections in 109

It's not selfish to stand in these areas and people standing there shouldn't feel that it is. Until we get rid of this daft "no standing at football" legislation then there will have to be an area of the stadium where it's an unwritten rule that people will stand. The corner and 109 is this area and if there are still people in this area that want to sit it's about time they realised this and either get on with it or move. There's a whole stadium where people can sit and probably get a better view yet there's a minority that press on and sit in 109 and moan about people standing. If we assume it would be out of order to go in the Colin Bell levels 1, 2 and 3 or the whole of the North Stand or the majority of the East Stand level 1 and the whole of levels 2 & 3 and stand, then the same can be said for people expecting everyone else to sit in 109.

it's not specifically about him that I'm most concerned about, more the treatment of fans by stewards in general, this is just another, and the worst so far, example of all this.

We can attempt to change what's going on without using this guy as a poster symbol, the story is a story, if he wants to get involved then I welcome it, but it's not a prerogative.
