Trouble in the East Stand??

I'm in 109 and when i was walking down the steps to my seat pre-game i was stopped by showsec and asked to show my season ticket.

When I asked why I was told.. 'because this is a standing block and fans are coming in from serate sections and overfilling it'

That came straight from one of the showsec stewards so why 20minutes later are they trying to haul people out, pisses me off.

all they seem to want is a battle.

SHOWSEC OUT!

then I ask whether you as a Nazi official would have turned on the gas showers at the concentration camp or got your friends arrested because somebody in authority told you it was right and you should do it no questions asked?

You haven't just compared the Holocaust to Showsec throwing a guy out of a football match have you?

/cleans monitor to make sure...

oh...fuck me, you have.

There's no inconsistency.

If they told me to sit down, I refused and I got dragged out there would only be one person to blame?

Now the manner they dragged me out may well be overkill for the offence but that's club policy.

they don't tell me to sit down in 117, I know they don't so I can stand.

I have been told to sit down in 120 and hey fucking ho, I sat down. regardless of 200 people standing to my right.

I then moved to 117.

109 should be allowed to stand IMO if 116 and 117 are. they aren't and that's club policy, not the stewards. Did they not send a letter out saying you couldn't in 109?

Was hardly breaking news on Sat was it?

yeah, there would be only 1 person to blame, the person who told people it was ok to stand and then told the stewards to randomly drag people out regardless for standing in an unfair and unjust way.

-- Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:05 pm --

I used it as an example that authority shouldn't be unquestionably obeyed.

Like I said an extreme example, but a fair one.

It's the holocaust "oh my god, taboo! we can't mention it or use it as an example of anything" /end thread, evil JMW.

Tragically they can change their ground regulations at any point as long as they infor you. Modern footy for you.

So having been informed that you cannot stand, not only by moronic stewards but by post, the person whose fault it was would be the person who decided to ignore it.

I'm not saying it's right in the slightest. Im saying that why what happened happened.

It's a joke. But the bullshit on 90-odd pages of this is also one.

Also, I fail to see any hypocrisy in my earlier statement, I'm bemused in fact...

FUCK THAT. Explain this to me. If the twats wanted the block to sit down, why not start going from left to right of the front row, then second row and third and so on? Why pick an old man with heart problems a few rows back? go on....
Was he wearing a sign saying "I have a heart problem"
If indeed he had a heart problem would he not just leave as to make sure it didnt make the problem worse. I dont agree with what happened but at the end of the day its not like they picked on him because he had a heart problem

Ok. Why choose anyone a few rows back to be the first to sit down, no matter what age, sex or condition?

I think the pro-violence posts on here are equally inappropriate but I don't believe standing his ground in that situation was wrong, sorry, I just do not.

Agree to disagree but the whole approach of security is wrong and that's the issue, can't blame him when there are far more fundamental issues completely out of his control.

What was harder? dragging him out or saying to him once he'd sat down please stay seated and asking the others to sit when we weren't attacking? If he was really bad then wait till he goes up on the concourse or take his seat number and deal with him after the game.

I wasnt there all i have seen is vid but someone close said he was asked to sit down and refused. How many other people were standing at the time i dont know. They probably do pick easy targets to make a point but then again you wouldnt pick the 20 stone juggernaut that looks like he eats babies to make an example of!! I agree they are wankers but i just disagreed about highlighting the heart condition

Tolmie, are you suggesting the heart rate for standing for 90 minutes and the heart rate when you are being forcibly removed from somewhere would be the same?

He asks for a heart condition to be taken into account, yet, despite his seemingly advance years, feels the need to stand in a section which will do so for the entire duration of the match.

The fan in question, as is his preference, will also sing and dance with the rest of 'em, no doubt.

His heart rate will be up and down all game, same with most.

The whole point is that he is being forcibly removed because of his subsequent actions to defy requests.

If his heart claims are genuine, then what the fuck is he playing at the first place.

Go quietly, argue your case on the consourse, further.

Certainly don't play the fool and bring greater risk to yourself.

What about a petition and a candlelight vigil?

FFS it's our best season for donkeys years and you want people to boycott matches?

I agree mate...thats got to be the worst fuckin post ever,BOYCOT A GAME is he for fucking real.....clown!

Cut the insults, I've said it would be the clearest and the strongest form of action we could take to sort the issue out, as I said there can be other courses of actions and I offered the thread up to suggestions on what we could do.

If you don't give a shit about this issue then why the fuck contribute to the thread?

I am split on this thread tbh,i do agree they have gone to an easy target but thats how they operate, can you imagine them hurling a big 6ft 5 guy whos with 20 of his mates i think then it would of been carnage....Like tolmie said they have to start somewhere & unfortunatly the old bloke was the easy 1st victim...still think the stewards were to heavy handed especially the fucking weasle with the rat under is nose(i dare say his card is marked) ....I just think this thread has gone mob rule & wanting blood to easily,i think city will probably come out with a further statement...I just think the boycot a match post was a bit to strong!

Everyone in that block was stood as already said. I highlighted the fact he had heart conditions to emphasise how the bullies picked out a weak target. If they wanted to make an example of somebody then yeah maybe they should take out a juggernaut to show they aren't afraid of anyone and that anyone can be ejected.
