But it's not just homophobic chants and giving the big 'un to rival fans that upsets you is it? The other week you were moaning about the banter aimed at the overweight Birmingham fan in the Carling Cup game and saying people should've concentrated on watching the match ffs. You come across as a big girl's blouse who has undergone a sense of humour bypass and the only reason why you get any kudos on here is because of your ITK status (teasing tit-bits usually given in the form of attention-seeking cryptic YouTube vids) that has dozens of lemmings sucking your cock and begging for more info.

Not contributed to the thread yet but this bit had be giggling like a school girl, and is bang on!!

I was sat about 6 or 7 rows behind on Saturday, and the ShowSec guys that got a smack deserved it, if it wasn't for the fact the old guy was still down there, as well as a young girl, it would have kicked off properly, people were being held back all around.

Nah, your right, I shouldn't consider homophobic chants offensive.

Nor be bemused by the sight of some fans getting their jollies taking the piss out a rival fan for the majority of the second half against Brum.

Funny how you interpret that one-off, one line post, as moaning. It clearly resonated with you, I wonder why...

I should just man the fuck up.

Agree.

Now wipe your fanny and get on with posting your YouTube videos.

I'm still too busy wiping up the shit which clearly spills from your keyboard.

Didn't hear Apple had released one for knuckles only?

The I-sad 12, no doubt.

you gonna take that because they've changed it on you even though you paid for something else or are you going to stand up for what was originally agreed until you get it?.
No, I'm saying everyone is aware of the rule change. It's not as though people have been charged more to have a "seat" in 109 as it is standing.

As I say, this sort of thing will continue until the rules change or people sit down. Showsec are only carrying out the club's instruction (though it would appear they are doing it badly).

It's wrong to change the rule after somebody's paid for something elss that you advertised for their money, that's my point.

The club could do a lot of things to sort it out, picking on random people, turfing them out and injuring fans in squabbles with stewards turning round and aggressively pushing and shoving fans is not the right way whatever anyone says, badly is an understatement imo.
I agree with showsec being a set of fucking gorrillas.

Standing is not club policy. It is governmental law under the Taylor Report into top flight stadia.
Absolute nonsense. That's shocking from someone like you. How many bloody times do I have to repeat this.

The Taylor Report recommended all-seater stadiums and the Government adopted this for clubs in the Premier League & Championship. As part of that legislation, local authorities were given power to licence grounds and some model regulations for criteria to be used were published. However these were just suggestions. One of those model regulations involved banning persistent standing though Taylor never actually identified standing as the problem per se. However it's not legislatively banned.

In consultation with the licensing body, the ground regulations for football matches (as these are the only ones covered under the legislation) include a policy of not permitting persistent standing. However if I was watching a concert or some other event other than football, I could stand (and drink at my seat). So there's an implicit recognition that standing is not unsafe in itself. As I understand it, if the council decide that trying to get fans to sit down is more dangerous than leaving them stood up, then they can choose not to enforce the regulation. No one is breaking the law in doing that. Smoking however is illegal in enclosed spaces and the club is deemed to be committing an offence by not enforcing that law.

City have, with presumably a "nod and a wink" from the council, sensibly agreed to ignore standing in the South Stand blocks (including away fans) and in 110/111. Now the overwhelming majority in 109 want to stand and the club gave a "nod and a wink" to this at the end of last season. Once the season started however, when everyone had bought their season tickets, they reversed that policy, plus sometimes they try to enforce it vigorously and sometimes they don't bother at all. So they're sending out mixed messages all the time.

If you booked and paid for a holiday at a particular hotel whcih had facilities for your kids and was on the beach then arrived at your destination to find you were actually sent somewhere else, which was inland and had no kids' facilities then you'd be pissed off and, more importantly, have a remedy in law.
I find myself agreeing with this also.

The club should allow 109 to stand but it seems no one has a hotline to Fletcher and he is an ignorant pig-headed type.

All I'm saying is that unless something changes very soon, there is going to be a full blown mini-riot in 109 and that is something no one wants. People are likely to get hurt and if anything, it may make City act and stop "turning a blind eye" to the other standing sections, citing health and safety.

The man was not several rows from the front. He was in row B. He was standing along with those alongside him. He was probably more stubborn than most. As for Tolmie's assertion that no-one know what went on before the video. Erm, I do, I was there directly behind him. If a steward who had a row between him could hear him, I damn well could. He was not aggressive and he didn't swear. He was polite and put forward an argument they couldn't answer. He refused their instruction to sit down. They said they'd get the police, whilst they were doing that he sat down. As for putting up a fight as one poster suggested, absolutely hilarious. He put up no fight whatsoever. Funny how some on here know better than those who were there and their video footage.
Just to be absolutely clear on this Skash, is Row B the front row and, if not, were there people in front of him who were stood up when they were trying to get him to sit down?

Plus when the police arrived, did the stewards grab him at that point or did the police do something?

I'm in touch with the FSF and have a couple of journalist contacts who I'll be speaking to and I want to be sure of the facts.

Basically they picked on an easy target, how can you pick out 1 person when the whole section are standing. The away fans always stand up at City, most of the time the Kop stands, as does the Stretford end etc etc etc

Not trying to take anything away from people's views/arguments but............... have you ever tried to sit in the Kop? :-)

My son and his wife (ok I don't know where I went wrong with him but......) used to have season tickets in the Kop and when one of them couldn't go for any reason and we had no match I would go along instead.(I love football, so sue me!!) I am 5ft 4 inches and when I sat down in the Kop my legs were so bent I wouldn't have been able to walk for a week if I had stayed sitting down. My son is 6ft 3 inches so you can imagine how it would be for him!! So that might be the reason they stand in the Kop!!

There can be little sympathy at the end of the day.

This guy was just unlucky that he was picked out, but ultimately, he doesn't have a leg to stand on, literally.

In the video, he is clearly being obstinate and some of his actions, quite laughable.

He is quick to state a heart problem when the flashpoint increases, however, not so serious, that a man of his age can stand up all game and is old enough to know better.

My old man was thrown out for smoking in toilets the other season, must have been 200 in there doing exactly the same.

Means fuck all.

The law is clear, City, nor any other club, are able to enforce it across the board, but they can't be seen to disregrading it.

The whole incident just seems to smack of escalation, sheep followers and those who just wanted to exacerbate it for the sake of mob rule and handbags with police and stewards.

By the same people who spend the majority of the game being so self-aware, they concern themselves more with homophobic chants than watching the game, and giving it the big 'un to rival fans who are separated by police and stewards.

But it's not just homophobic chants and giving the big 'un to rival fans that upsets you is it? Calm down skippy.

Nah, your right, I shouldn't consider homophobic chants offensive.

I should just man the fuck up, like you, hard man, who can't debate the issue in question, without letting your petty jealousy making it personal.

You missed my point entirely. If you could bother engaging your brain for more than a millisecond, then you'll see my beef wasn't anything to do with your issues about homophobic chanting or fronting up away fans but everything to do with you spitting your dummy out about the banter with the Birmingham fan the other week.

Oh, and the reason why that resonated so much with me is that the comment was completely out of touch with everything else in the thread. It was fuck-all whatsoever to do with petty jealousy about your ITK status you fucking sad twat.
