Truro City

I'm bored so did a little google mapping.
Truro to: (round trip)
Hartlepool - 866 miles
Carlisle: 870
Gateshead 910

As it stands, their nearest game next season is Yeovil, which is a 272 mile round trip - that distance is 8 miles short of City travelling to Sunderland and back.
2nd nearest ground would be Forest Green Rovers (unless they win the play offs) which is a 390 mile round trip. City travelling to Arsenal is a 396 mile round trip!
3rd nearest is Eastleigh at 400 mile round trip.
If Torquay make it through the play offs, then that would be the nearest with a 212 mile round trip.
I will probably see the Eastleigh game, a family friend (saints fan) lives in Truro and goes to all home games, he will be up for that......under 15min drive for me ;)

Don’t think of National League North and South as teams that are in the north or south of the country. Think of it as there are 48 teams at that level of football that need to be split N/S into two divisions. Right now, there just happens to be more teams that are more southern in that 48. It’s never going to be a perfect N/S split. It’s likely that Bedford and one, if not both, of Gloucester and Merthyr will be in the NL North next season.
I follow chorley in non league and ive been told merthyr town are in the national north

Most comments I've found since they won the Southern League last weekend said national north or south depending on who else goes up and down.
The Welsh League wanted Merthyr to join their league but I'm not sure they'd want to play in front of tiny crowds. - Based on my trip to TNS about seven or eight years ago.

I regularly watch King's Lynn in the National League North as they are my nearest non-league team who play at a decent standard.

You could even argue if King's Lynn is North, but as others have rightly said, they divvy the 48 teams and depending on who is where, they get put in the NLN or NLS

This season in the NLN alongside Lynn are Northern powerhouses Oxford City and, most bizarrely, Needham Market......based in Suffolk!!

The plus side for me personally was Needham were, until recently, managed by none other than Super Kevin Horlock and I was able to haved a chat with him (about City) on Boxing day when Needham played King's Lynn........but, he also said that teams in non-league can become victims of their own success as the travelling and overnight stays were crippling Needham as they have to travel to a lot of teams in the North West along with teams like Spennymoor and South Shields.

It's almost like the FA should revamp the pyramid system and introduce a Northern/Southern/Central league, or even split the country into quarters to help the small clubs

Merthyr Town have just been promoted as Champions.
They pulled in over 3,000 for their last game, which is a superb crowd for a smallish town.
The club and their fans have no interest in joining the Welsh League, as the standard is mediocre and the clubs are poorly supported.
Think they also enjoy the rivalry against English clubs...

Went to see them play Chertsey a few weeks ago as their ground is where the former Merthyr team played when they were in the Football League. They pulled in around 1,500 that day which is a lot more than many Welsh League teams get.
They were originally allowed to miss out on the Welsh League to try to get into the EFL, but they went down rather than up.

Im a Manc but also follow Darlington FC.
The club is fan owned and they sometimes have a whip round for overnight hotels for games like Kings Lynn.
Its madness that NLN has a team from Suffolk in it this season.

They had a great fanzine name too - “Dial M for Merthyr”

Congratulations and all that but let’s get back to the shower business with the spurs players.
