Trust in politicians

It has started to reflect American politics. Style over substance, sound bites and PR overload.

So it's a 'no' from me.

If they were a girlfriend you'd of fucked them off long ago. Lying, cheating bastards

If you replace the words lying and cheating with pathetic and useless you could have been talking about City for most of the past 30 years.

You have to keep the faith and keep believing because the alternative is anarchy, looting on the streets, 9 year old boy soldiers and warlords.

Or worse, students wearing "V for Vendetta" facemasks.

Funnily enough I was with a group of retired dockers yesterday. Most of them came to the same conclusion.

Now that's a shower that could teach the politicians a few tricks. We used to collect bales of cotton from Liverpool docks, and we had to take money from petty cash to pay the dockers their sweeteners. The cash wasn't to jump the queue, it was just so they didn't keep you waiting for days.

How widespread was this practice? These dockers all worked at Salford, not Liverpool.

As for sweeteners, does it not happen in most industries? I've relief managed pubs and Rule No1 is when the drayman arrive, offer them a drink. The driver (for obvious reasons) wouldn't have a jar, so you'd offer him 10 Park Drive. If you didn't offer you got given the bad/worst beer.
