Trying to sleep in this heat!

Oscillating fan, Talisker and a turgid book has been doing the trick for me. Audiobooks with comfortable headphones work really well depending on the tone of the narrator.
As a general rule though if I can't sleep I stop trying and get up and do something productive. If I really can't sleep and I start feeling anxious and can't shut my mind down because it's of paramount importance that I'm fresh in the morning then as a last resort I'll bosh a diazepam.. Always does the job but it's usually a weird unsatisfying slab of sleep and I feel a bit cheated in the morning.

I started a thread at the start of the heatwave and people were having a go at me,anyway I was told from a bloke at work to open my attic hatch oo er :) and I must say I noticed it became a lot cooler upstairs. also ive got a fan and the mrs made me buy a summer quilt, must admit without the million tog quilt it does seem a little cooler.

Put your pillow cases in the fridge for a while before you go to bed.
