said that in the next three days there is a 70% chance of an aftershock of a 7 magnitude quake.

unbelievable.

A geophysicist at UU Coleraine, John McCloskey, said that he believes Friday's quake is the 'aftershock' of an earlier eruption two days before, in which a 7.2 magnitude explosion shook the Pacific sea floor near the northern Miyagi area.

-- Mon Mar 14, 2011 7:20 pm --

You can watch a live stream of NHK here:

The bottom of Number 2(I think) reactor has been damaged which is indicating a serious radiation leak, considering another one just blew up aswell... this is starting to look really bad for Japan.

And here come the rads. This is now second only to Chernobyl and will continue to get worse from now on as the radiation levels go up. There are pools of contaminated water as well as spent fuel rods on site which are now becoming hazardous. Most of the staff have been evacuated due to the radiation levels and the remaining crews are using fire appliances to pump sea water to 3 reactors as well as to the spent fuel holding tanks which have run dry and in which some spent rods have caught fire.

Christ, if they have not had enough over ther, it is now pelting it down with snow and severe cold temperatures. First of all an earthquake measuring 9.0 on the richter scale, then a Tsunami wiping towns and families out, then the nuclear disaster and now this. Really gotta feel for the Japanese at the minute.
